Trim-Lok is expanding into a 150,000 square foot manufacturing and warehouse facility, with an additional 5,500 square feet of office space, in Elkhart, Indiana.
The California-based company has operated an Elkhart division the past six years. Through an agreement with the city of Elkhart, terms of which were not announced, Trim-Lok will consolidate three facilities into a state-of-the-art building to support its business.
Dan Whitener, company vice-president and chief operating officer, said Midwest manufacturing is a critical component of the company’s operations.
“We have had a fairly small, yet resilient, workforce and set of capabilities in our current 27,000 square feet facility,” Whitener said. “With the expansion, we will be growing not only our physical footprint, but our workforce and capability set.”
Trim-Lok’s expansion will create manufacturing, warehouse and office jobs to support the investment into equipment to increase manufacturing capacity and implement new capabilities. The location will provide the company with shorter transit lanes for raw material and finished goods. In addition, it enables better freight management for Trim-Lok and its customers, the company stated.
Trim-Lok, Inc. is working with the Economic Development Corp. of Elkhart County, the city of Elkhart, DJ Construction and Shah Properties to fulfill this project.
