Canadians Conducting Business Survey

RVDA of Canada has launched the 2026 RVDA of Canada Business Pulse Survey of its dealers.

The association said the survey is a vital initiative that translates local dealership challenges into national policy priorities. The survey is the association’s primary base for its ongoing advocacy work.

RVDA of Canada said its track record proves that member feedback is the most effective tool for change. In 2025, specific dealer data on the impact of the 25% motorhome surtax enabled the association to secure a Government Remission Order successfully. The order delivered financial relief and stabilized Canadian consumers’ costs.

RVDA of Canada President Eleonore Hamm said the association cannot speak in generalities at the nation’s capital.

“We go there with the specific facts and figures provided by our members,” Hamm said. “This survey provides the critical leverage we need to ensure that federal policies support, rather than hinder, the success of Canadian RV dealerships.”

RVDA of Canada said it is focused on Canadian businesses’ specific regulatory hurdles. The 2026 survey focuses on several key issues, including:

  • The 2026 Canada-US-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) Review: The association is working to ensure the Canadian government prioritizes duty-free trade and supply chain protection during this pivotal review year.
  • Tax and Regulatory Relief: This includes identifying specific red tape and tax issues to present to the Canada Revenue Agency and Finance Canada.
  • Workforce and Infrastructure: Documenting the real-world impact of skilled trade shortages to secure federal training grants and infrastructure investment is also a priority.

“Government officials need to hear the right things from the right people at the right time,” Hamm said. “By taking five minutes to share their perspective, our members ensure we are heading into every meeting in Ottawa with the current, credible data needed to move the needle for our industry.”
