Airxcel, Inc.’s electronic vehicle (EV)-ready product collection contains environmental control and luxury comfort products for electric Type B camper vans, Type C motorhomes and travel trailers with boondocking capabilities.

Jeff Rutherford, Airxcel president and CEO, said the company’s legacy drove the team toward the EV market, although some products were already suited for EVs and off-grid camping.

“It is a new age for RVs with rapidly expanding options for electric vehicles,” Rutherford said, “and increased demand for the use of alternative power sources that let RV enthusiasts boondock with comfort. Product development at Airxcel has focused on pursuing advancements in this exciting and innovative area of RV design to create the best possible products for our customers.”

Among the product collection are Aqua-Hot’s hydronic heating system, Coleman-Mach’s energy-efficient air conditioners, Dicor Products’s roofing products, Maxxair’s deluxe ventilation system, MCD Innovations’s motorized RV shades, Suburban’s kitchen appliances and United Shade’s insulating window treatments.

“We also have a responsibility to our OEM customers to be responsive to consumer demands,” Rutherford said. “Right now, we are seeing an incredible interest from our buyers in all-electric options because they expand the usability and overall comfort of recreational vehicles especially for boondockers.”

Current industry trends continue to show new RV demand will outpace available campsites, making off-grid performance an expectation rather than a luxury for many RVers, according to Airxcel.
