The National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) released a letter from President and CEO Paul Bambei and Board Chairman Peter Brown. The letter responded to the announcement by the Florida Campground Association (FCA) that it would end its ARVC affiliation in 2022.

The letter stated ARVC was saddened by the decision but remained supportive of Florida and Alabama ARVC members served by FCA. Bambei and Brown thanked state executive Bobby Cornwell for being a loyal advocate and friend to the industry.

FCA stated the move was a business decision, and that re-partnering could occur in the future. ARVC’s letter stated it would welcome a reunion “because again, we are always stronger together.”

The letter highlighted ARVC achievements in recent work:

  • As the COVID pandemic began, ARVC led more than a dozen grassroots campaigns resulting in more than 25,000 communications sent to local mayors and council, state legislators, members of Congress and the Trump administration.
  • In mid-2020,ARVC worked directly with the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), along with other industry leaders, to get members of our industry recognized nationally as essential businesses.
  • In tandem with our DC-based lobbying firm, McDermott, Will and Emory, ARVC is actively involved in Washington.
  • ARVC is working directly on the Steering Committee for a future White House Conference on Small Business and with the Family Business Coalition to address possible capital gains changes and a roll back of the step-up tax that could negatively impact all family-owned businesses.
  • The ARVC Advocacy Center launched direct campaigns to Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) to consider the impact of tax proposals in the current infrastructure bill.
  • ARVC sits on the board of the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable.
  • This year, the ARVC government affairs team reviewed more than 11,000 federal and state legislative issues (including 162 in Alabama and 508 in Florida) and sent out more than 312 pieces of actionable intelligence.

The letter concluded by stating ARVC was fighting to make the industry successful. The association welcomes anyone who wants to fight alongside it, the letter stated.
