RV technicians have been added to a Texas list containing high-demand occupations in the state.

The change, resulting from lobbying efforts led by the National RV Training Academy (NRVTA) provides technician trainees opportunities to access tuition aid from federal programs.

By adding RV technicians to the high-demand occupation list, NRVTA and similar training providers can apply for inclusion to Texas’ Eligible Training Providers List (ETPL).

“We are planning to apply this fall when the state’s application program reopens after a summer break,” said Stephanie Henson, NRVTA director of administration. “The local workforce office has already approached us to recruit students for our programs who qualify for these funding programs. Once approved, we can begin accepting new students under programs funded through WIOA (the Texas Workforce Commission and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act).”

WIOA provides states with comprehensive programs and services designed to help career seekers secure the employment, education, training and support services necessary to succeed in the labor market while matching employers with skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.
