RVDA and RVDA of Canada endorsed KYCS Locate, bringing an inventory location and theft prevention solution to dealers nationwide. The program is available in the U.S. through Brown & Brown Dealer Services (BBDS).

Locate is an ideal trailer and motorhome device, RVDA stated, made for inventory location with no monthly subscription fees. Canada-based KYCS Global manufacturers the product, which works in partnership with Crime Stoppers nationwide.

“A number of dealers in the U.S. and Canada are already using the device to keep track of RVs on the lot or in transit,” KYCS Special Market VP Jason Lyall said. “With the number of vehicles reported stolen on the rise, Locate provides dealerships and consumers with a true theft recovery device.”

BBDS and KYCS began partnering on Locate in September, a BBDS company official said, after starting talks about working together in June 2020. Dealers having problems with stolen property was the focus, BBDS said, although the product helps consumers as well. Consumers can buy the device in the aftermarket.

No wiring is involved with Locate, RVDA stated, and the device can be installed using built-in magnets or an adhesive. Locate will update the RV’s location at least once a day on the KYCS web portal and mobile application. If the RV is stolen or goes missing, the KYCS monitoring team can remotely program the Locate device to track the RV.

“We couldn’t be prouder to bring KYCS Locate and their partnership with Crime Stoppers to our dealer network,” Brown & Brown Dealer Services President Mike Neal said. “Locate creates a new revenue stream for dealerships, while also protecting their lot and managing inventory. KYCS Locate is the right solution at the right time for our dealers and provides peace of mind to their customers.”

RVDA stated it endorses products and services to help dealers manage their businesses better by providing access to reliable resources. The RVDA Board of Directors approved the endorsement upon the recommendation of the RV Assistance Corp. (RVAC).
