EnerSys expanded its Odyssey battery brand portfolio to now include products formerly sold under the NorthStar battery brand.

All NorthStar batteries for transportation applications will be sold under the Odyssey battery brand.

EnerSys said the expanded portfolio will include Odyssey Performance batteries, Odyssey Extreme batteries and Odyssey Pro batteries. The battery line features proprietary Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology and long-lasting power for various applications, including RVs.

“With over 25 years of production, Odyssey batteries have grown to become a household name; one that customers have come to rely on to provide resilient and unmatched power for all their transportation needs,” said Dave McMullen, senior director of marketing, transportation and specialty at EnerSys. “In an effort to continuously enhance the customer experience, our expanded line will combine the qualities of NorthStar batteries with the tried-and-true performance of our Odyssey battery brand to provide more options that meet the unique power demands of today’s vehicles.”

Odyssey batteries provide deep cycle reserve power and maximum cranking power, with engine cranking pulses up to 3,125 amps for five seconds. The increased cranking is double the power of equally sized conventional lead-acid batteries. The batteries include Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) construction and non-spillable design. Odyssey batteries feature a three- to 10-year service life and a two-year storage life at 77°F (25°C). The batteries are available in numerous sizes, with cold-cranking amps (CCA) as high as 2,250.
