For the second month in a row, motorhome and towable auction values increased compared with the previous month, according to Black Book’s RV Market Commentary for April 2024.

The volume of RVs sold at auction additionally increased across all segments.

Black Book Specialty Vehicles Principal Automotive Analyst Eric Lawrence said this was, “an indication that dealers are still buying more inventory to restock their lots and make sure they have the correct mix of units.”

In April, the average motorhome selling price was $59,231. This increased by $3,281 compared with the previous month. A year ago, the motorhome’s average selling price was $65, 365.

The auction volume was up 7.9% compared with March. The average motorhome model year was 2016.

The towable average selling price was $19,606. This increased by $606 compared with March. One year ago, the towable average selling price was $21,130.

The auction volume was up 17.4% compared with March. The average model year was 2019.

Lawrence said, “We expect auction activity to stay strong while we are in the heart of the prime selling season.”
