Motorhome values reached a record high in December, according to Black Book, marking the fourth consecutive month of all-time highs.

Motorized units saw a $6,466 increase and towables a $150 increase from the previous month.

“The values of used RVs sold at wholesale auctions have once again reached all-time highs,” stated Eric Lawrence, Black Book principal analyst of specialty markets. “This is the fourth consecutive month of record setting values for towables, and the third out of four for motorized units.”

Motorized units’ average selling point reached $60,067, up 12 percent from the previous month. One year ago, motorhomes’ average selling price was $45,384, an increase of $14,683, or 32 percent.

“This continued popularity of used units mirrors what we are seeing on the new side, where although manufacturers are reporting record shipments, dealers say they still do not have enough inventory,” Lawrence stated.

Towables saw a $150 sales price increase from the previous month to $19,346. That is a $5,225 increase from a year ago, or 37 percent.

Auction volume for towables increased 7.9 percent from November, compared with motorhome auction volume which was down 3.8 percent from the previous month.
