Canadian Association Secures Transport Exemption

The RVDA of Canada said Transport Canada has granted the Canadian RV industry’s electronic logging device (ELD) exemption request.

The approved exemption will immediately have a positive impact on the Canadian RV industry, RVDA of Canada said. The exemption will ease commercial vehicle driving recruiting, the association said, after drivers previous were reluctant to enter Canada under the ELD mandate. The mandate took effect Jan. 1.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) and the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA),” RVDA of Canada said, “for their collaborative efforts in our mission to deliver exceptional service to our customers, all while upholding Canadian road safety.”

RVDA of Canada said it will continue to work closely with Transport Canada to ensure operators align with federal regulations while making the most of this ELD exemption.
