Canadian RV dealers built inventory levels in the fourth quarter of 2023, the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) reported.

Fourth-quarter shipments totaled 6,303 RVs. According to Statistical Surveys Inc., fourth-quarter retail registrations totaled 3,455 RVs, adding 2,848 RVs to dealers’ lots in the quarter.

“This is considered to be a positive sign,” CRVA said, “as dealers gear up for the Canadian winter/spring show season in 2024.”

CRVA reported 2023 wholesale shipments totaled 26,171 RVs, a 53.4% decrease compared with 56,151 shipments in 2022.

Fourth-quarter shipments were down 15.7% compared with 7,480 shipments in the fourth quarter of 2022.

“The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association is optimistic that trends will be positive in 2024 given reported success at various Canadian retail shows this year which have attracted a large number of RV enthusiasts and potential buyers,” the association said. “As economic conditions stabilize and consumer confidence grows, it is expected that more and more individuals and families will look at RVs closely again as a viable option for travel and leisure.”
