The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) reported Canadian RV wholesale shipments in the first quarter slowed, in tandem with U.S. wholesale RV shipments.

CRVA reported 7,082 RV wholesale shipments in the first quarter of 2023. The total is down 60.6% from the first quarter of 2022, when wholesale RV shipments totaled 17,964.

According to Statistical Surveys, RVDA of Canada reported 6,163 retail registrations in the first quarter of 2023, 919 fewer than first-quarter wholesale RV shipments.

“Canadian RV dealer inventory levels increased slightly during the quarter,” CRVA said, “but not as much as in an average year historically.”

Towable RV wholesale shipments in the first quarter of 2023 were 66% lower than the first quarter of 2022. Motorized shipments were up 38.8% from the first quarter of 2022. Wholesale shipments of Type B (+52.7%) and Type C (+52.1%) motorhomes led the category compared with first quarter 2022 wholesale shipments.
