Milton Hull started Emergency Radio Service (ERS Wireless) in 1948 as a service partner for Motorola. Back then, this type of service was mostly done by Indiana public safety agencies. Today, the supplier is both a Platinum Channel Partner and an Elite Service Partner, meaning sales and technical staff has experienced Motorola industry trainings.
When Motorola started allowing “dealers” to sell their products in the 1970s, ERS became a Charter one. This meant the supplier could now sell commercial tiered radios to customers, rather than “public safety” ones.
With offices in Elkhart and Ligonier, Indiana — ERS Wireless now has ten offices throughout Indiana and Kentucky — the supplier was close to the RV manufacturing capital of the world. It started helping regional companies with everyday communications equipment, like two-way radios and video surveillance.
Brian Hull is the company’s president and the third generation of family ownership. ERS won Motorola Solutions Empower Circle Award in 2021, which is given to 50 of the company’s 7,500 global channel partners. ERS has won the award almost 20 times in the past two decades.
