Actor John Ratzenberger, a two-time Emmy Award nominee as Cliff Clavin on the sitcom “Cheers,” and known for voicing Pixar films characters, will be attending Elkhart Extravaganza as a guest of Little Guy Trailers, a subsidiary of Xtreme Outdoors.

Ratzenberger will appear at the Little Guy Trailers booth Sept. 26-27 during Open House week.

Ratzenberger is an avid outdoors person and RVer as well as creator and host of the Travel Channel show “John Ratzenberger’s Made in America.” Ratzenberger featured the RV industry on the show and the men and women who are the foundation of RV manufacturing.

In 2004, he was awarded the RVIA’s Spirit of America Award for increasing public awareness of RVing.

His  RVing love started long ago, he said.

“When ‘Cheers’ ended (in 1993), I moved my family to the Pacific Northwest where my kids could be surrounded by nature. I also wanted to spend as much time with them as I could before they flew the nest,” Ratzenberger said “We bought an RV and hit the road every chance we could. I truly believe it changed the trajectory of my children’s lives, and mine, for the better.”

Like many Americans the past two years, Ratzenberger wanted to continue to travel, but in an environment he could control. So, he started shopping for a new RV. As a journeyman carpenter by trade, who helped build the stage at Woodstock before the 1969 music festival, Ratzenberger said he wanted an RV with the highest quality craftsmanship available.

After researching manufacturers and reading reviews, he chose Xtreme Outdoors’ Little Guy Max.

“I originally wanted an RV I could store in my garage and the Micro Max fit the bill,” Ratzenberger said. “But once I saw the Max, that was it. I picked it up at their manufacturing plant in Pennsylvania earlier this year and camped across the country. When Joe Kicos invited me to the Open House, I was all in.”

John will be at the booth from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 26 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 27

Dependent on his RV travel schedule, Xtreme Outdoors said Little Guy Trailers dealers may have the opportunity to host Ratzenberger at their dealerships this year.
