RV dealers can generate donations to the charities of their choice by paying for phone, internet, credit card processing and other business necessities through Purpose in Expenses (PIE).
In a promotional video for PIE last year, Josh Zuleger of Marquart RV said the dealer group donated over $14,000 to local communities through the PIE program for RV dealerships. The chain has 10 dealerships in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Each store chooses local charities that are important in their respective communities to receive donations.
As of October 2025, PIE said Marquart RV’s donations topped $50,000, and the dealer group’s annual savings are even higher.
Beaver Coach Sales of Oregon owner Ty Kelly said his store also used the program to save money and give back.
“As I look at our expenses continuing to go up and our margins continuing to go down, we have to do everything we possibly can. A huge part of our culture is giving back to the community, especially the young people,” Kelly said. “Through PIE, we are able to do that at absolutely no cost to us. It is going to save us six figures this year, so it is an absolute no-brainer. I recommend this to everyone.”
PIE co-founder and CEO Jamie Bianchini said PIE has been around for five years and has helped businesses generate “hundreds of thousands of dollars” in donations while saving on necessary expenses.
“The expense side of any business tends to be an overlooked resource for finding ways to support nonprofits,” he said. “We have come up with a model that is proven. We have about 25 dealerships that have adopted this methodology. We help them to procure the same services that they need to have anyway, at the same or lower cost. Each time they pay that bill, a percentage is going out to the nonprofit that they choose.”
One recipient of PIE-generated donations is the Care Camps Foundation, which funds medically supervised pediatric oncology camps across the U.S. and Canada. During last week’s RVDA Convention/Expo in Las Vegas, Bianchini presented the Care Camps Foundation with a check for $3,000, courtesy of chemical solutions provider EcoLink.
Bianchini was introduced to Care Camps a decade ago while on a KOA-sponsored tour for his book, “A Bicycle Built for Two Billion.” One dollar from every book sold was donated to the foundation.
The relationship was rekindled when PIE had a booth at last year’s convention.
“He looked at the map and saw that Care Camps was right behind his booth,” Care Camps Foundation Executive Director Gwynn Sullivan said. “That was just serendipity. He has actually gotten some RV dealers and EcoLink to sign on and contribute to Care Camps. It is just a cool full circle moment of how the convention brought us together last year and really ignited this partnership.”
Once a business establishes its PIE program and the charities it will contribute to, donations are made automatically on a yearly basis.
“Nonprofit leaders do not have to ask and hope it is going to come through,” Bianchini said. “They know that is a line item of cash support that is going to come through. So nonprofit leaders really like it, because it is more consistent.”
Bianchini said business donations generated through PIE will hit $150,000 in 2025, about $5,000 of which is slated for Care Camps Foundation.
“We are here at RVDA to bring more awareness to the RV dealerships of the innate power to support nonprofits that already exist in their current operations,” Bianchini said. “We are proud of the impact we are creating as part of our proven impact business model, and we invite everyone in the RV industry to join us to generate funds for great nonprofit causes while elevating brand, culture and bottom-line performance.”
