Garnet Instruments Business Development Manager Stewart Purvis walked onto the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) campus with a bulky briefcase in tow. He did not take the briefcase home that day.
The briefcase held a portable display for Garnet’s SeeLeveL holding tank solution. Once inside, Purvis opened the briefcase. Inside, SeeLeveL Senders were at the bottom of the case, with SeeLeveL Tank Monitors, the SeeLeveL Soul and the Victron Multiplex System installed on the briefcase’s top section.

The senders are installed on the outside of an RV holding tank. The tank monitors and the Soul are connected to the senders.
The monitors showcase tank levels. The Soul collects information from the senders and communicates the data through RV-C communication to the multiplex system. The multiplex system displays all tank information.
Garnet made the portable display so Purvis could take it to RV dealer and OEM trainings. After seeing the display, SAIT instructors requested a kit to use for an upcoming training. Purvis decided to gift the kit to the school.
Garnet Instruments Service Logistics and Inside Sales Manager Tom Stalker said, “They were absolutely thrilled that they could get this unit and be able to show their technicians and use it for their training right away.”
The unplanned decision furthered Garnet’s goal to educate technicians on its product.
Stalker said, “Our goal is to get our technology in front of the new technicians that are being trained so that when they go out into the field, they will know about our products.”
Stalker said the company would like to annually provide updated kits for SAIT training.
Garnet also works with Okanagan College on product training. The college has Garnet product displays; however, Stalker said the supplier will provide product updates as the systems evolve.
The Canadian supplier plans to provide displays to U.S. training institutes. Stalker estimated U.S. partnerships could happen within the next 10-12 months.
For now, SAIT will use the kit for its upcoming training.
