Gold Heat, nationwide provider of electric radiant floor heat systems for RVs, is emerging from the coronavirus shutdown with a new marketing director and a renewed drive for taking care of people.

The RV floor heating supplier recently retained Joey Leffel as its new director of marketing, Gold Heat announced this week. While the hiring process began and ended during the coronavirus pandemic, Leffel said the company’s response to the ongoing situation actually convinced her to join the team.

“I was going through the interview process during the COVID-19 lockdown,” Leffel said. “I asked, Brian Bishop, Gold Heat’s General Manager, how the company was taking care of their employees during the pandemic (to judge company integrity). I was extremely impressed by his response.”

To protect the safety and security of the Gold Heat workforce in recent months, front office staff worked from home while production teams split their shifts. Bishop said the entire Gold Heat team continued to receive a full-time paycheck with full benefits.

“We got through it. During COVID-19, we had our orders fall off but we haven’t missed an order yet,” Bishop said.

Bishop said he worked to redesign the plant’s floorplans and employees’ work schedules to maintain social distancing and other safety protocols once employees returned to work. He said that some people worked half the time and others worked from home, but that Gold Heat provided for all employees’ wages the whole time.

“It was important to us as a leadership team that we kept our employees’ needs atop of mind – both personal and financial – while we all navigated this time of uncertainty,” Bishop said.

Leffel said the company’s integrity, which she saw demonstrated in their wage protection and focus on employee safety, drew her to join forces with Gold Heat.

“It was the company’s integrity that won me over,” she said. “If this is how Gold Heat takes care of their employees, just imagine how they take care of their customers.”

Leffel steps into the position of director of marketing, where she will “help us find new markets that will value our technology, same-day sales and service response and unique installation and post-sales support,” according to Bishop.

Leffel brings with her over twenty years of hands-on experience marketing several manufacturing players in the diagnostic equipment, high technology, movie and amusement and sporting goods industries. She holds both a B.S. in Business Management and an M.A. in Management from the University of Redlands School of Business in San Diego, CA.

She’s worked with brands including Coca Cola, TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA, Microsoft, Dell, and Amazon.
