Off-grid power supplier Samlex America is celebrating its 30th year as a power conversion product manufacturer.

Since its 1991 establishment, Samlex has grown to supply mobile and off-grid power solutions on a global scale. The company got its start in North America with a head office in Vancouver, Canada. Samlex now has a market that covers 90 countries, Marketing Manager Christie Kellogg said, with manufacturing partners in Taiwan and Netherlands, among others.

“It has been an incredible journey so far,” Samlex President Mike Hamanishi said. “With the many twists and turns we have experienced in the industry through all these years, Samlex continues to evolve to meet these changing demands. All the while making a positive impact on the lives of others as our core purpose – front and center to everything we do. My deepest gratitude and highest praise to all the tireless employees at Samlex, past and present, that define who we are every day.”

The company credited its “enduring success” to its customer service, warranty coverage and tech support, including offering dealers’ training. Samlex stated it has adapted to shifting market conditions, allowing the company to thrive and navigate industry challenges.

“It is great to work for a company that has weathered more than one storm,” Kellogg said. “We have been enduring in the market because we look after our customers and have exceptional customer service.”

Entering into the solar power market was a move that boosted the company’s success, Kellogg said. In 2009, the supplier unveiled Samlex Solar, a “new brand identity” that allowed the company to enter the recreational market. Customers had been asking for the product, Kellogg noted, sparking Samlex’s power solutions for RVs and off-road vehicles.

“The manufacturing of power conversion equipment is no different than any other industry facing this period of exciting challenges that come with disruption and transformation,” Hamanishi said. “To drive our future beyond our historic success, we are embracing change through continuous improvements such as the recent launch of our new website, innovative new additions to our product offering, expanding our sales team and finding better, simpler ways to do business with Samlex so that we may all succeed together.”

The company is working on building up its digital marketing plans, which Kellogg said aims to make the brand more “helpful.”

“The challenge is we have great products that are reliable, and a lot of partners, but if you do not know us, you do not know us,” Kellogg said. “The goal is brand awareness.”

As part of its 30-year celebration, she said Samlex is showing its employees appreciation with new headshots for social media pages, along with anniversary cupcakes and a company-provided lunch. Samlex customers will not be left out – Kellogg said the company is brainstorming how to best show its buyers appreciation in conjunction with COVID-19 restrictions.

In the future, Kellogg said Samlex likely will have a presence at fall and winter RV trade shows, pandemic restrictions permitting. The company is planning to launch new products this summer and fall.

“As Samlex America enters this milestone year, the company would like to take the opportunity to thank all of its customers, vendors and contractors,” the company stated, “many of whom have been working with Samlex since the very beginning, for their trust and loyalty.

“Beyond the business transaction, it is the countless friendships that have developed through these years that make this journey the success that it is,” Samlex stated.
