The Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA) said it has signed up to be a part of job fairs at technology schools across the state. The association hopes to develop more RV technicians.

FRVTA Executive Director Dave Kelly said the Board of Directors approved funds for materials so that each of the seven FRVTA regions can participate in local job fairs.

“In an effort to fill the many openings that our dealers and service centers have for technicians, we have developed a backdrop and table cover so we can be a part of job fairs around the state,” Kelly said. “Michele Berg and I took part in one last week at the JTech School in Jacksonville. They have a Marine/RV Training Program, and it was a pleasure to meet the students, many of whom graduate in a couple of months. We have encouraged them to reach out to our members as the need for technicians grows every year.”

FRVTA said upcoming job fairs in Ocala, Ft. Myers and the Tampa area will be covered by board members and volunteers.

“FRVTA also developed some giveaways that include screwdriver/flashlight tools and voltage meters,” the association said. “This will keep the FRVTA in the students’ minds as they go out into the world and seek employment.”

Kelly said FRVTA is looking forward to the feedback they will get from the students.

“Hopefully this will help us move the needle,” Kelly said, “to fill the many job openings available for technicians.”
