Gas Prices Up More Than a Dollar from 2020

The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) weekly survey of national gas prices found regular gas prices climbing for a week earlier, as diesel prices dipped slightly.

Regular gas prices average $2.855 a gallon nationally, EIA reported, up more than a half-cent from the $2.849 recorded the week before. Regular gas prices are up $1.04 a gallon from the same period a year ago.

Regionally, regular gas prices range from $2.565 a gallon in the Gulf Coast to $3.527 a gallon on the West Coast.

Diesel prices fell a half-cent from a week earlier to $3.124 a gallon. That price is 64 cents a gallon higher than it was in the same period a year ago.

Regionally, diesel prices range from as low as $2.923 a gallon in the Gulf Coast to $3.645 a gallon on the West Coast.
