GE Appliances (GEA) has acquired Midwest Sales and Services (MWSS) Inc. MWSS will operate as a subsidiary of GEA.

MWSS has been a GEA customer since 1991, and that relationship influenced RV segment success and growth at GEA, GEA said. MWSS Inc. will collaborate with GEA on market strategy and marketing for the RV segment while using the company’s warehousing, distribution and delivery capabilities to serve customers.

“The longstanding relationships and expertise of the team at MWSS, combined with the supporting infrastructure of GE Appliances, its American manufacturing capabilities and global supply chain will ensure that the products we make, service and deliver to our customers in the outdoor living space are best in class,” said Attila Krizsan, GEA senior director of recreational living.

In early 2021, GEA created a dedicated team to develop the RV emerging business segment with new products created for the recreational living product distributors and their consumers.

The MWSS team leveraged its industry expertise and longstanding industry relationships to aid in product development for RV-ready products  and create a bridge between GEA and RV OEMs, GEA said.

“We have worked closely with the GEA team for a long time to distribute their products to our customers. Collaborating with the GEA engineers to bring innovative appliances designed for the home to the outdoor living category has created new value from brands people trust,” said MWSS CEO Heath Wechter.

MWSS and its two Elkhart, Indiana, facilities will continue to operate with a full staff.

With 1,600 engineers and an industrial design organization, GEA, is based in Louisville, Kentucky.
