The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) on Friday extended 352 product exclusions from the China Section 301 tariff investigation.

The exemptions were among 549 exemptions originally expiring after 2020.

The 352 tariff exemptions were reinstated March 28, 2022, and will now extend through September 2023. The review is a four-year statutory process that began in the summer of 2018.

The Section 301 investigation examined China’s acts, policies and practices related to technology transfer, intellectual property and innovation by excluding certain products from additional duties.

Interested parties may submit tariff exclusion comments through the USTR portal in the four-year review, which closes Jan. 17, 2023. Additional information is available by clicking here.

RVIA’s government affairs team has been eyeing the tariff exclusion review process. Parties seeking more information can email Samantha Rocci, senior manager of government and political affairs, at [email protected].
