Government Reveals Weekly RV Recalls

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued its second weekly recall list after the federal government shutdown took effect Oct. 1. The Department of Transportation said NHTSA has access to prior-year appropriations and supplemental appropriations to keep all 574 employees working during the shutdown.

The result means NHTSA will continue releasing weekly recalls through the federal government shutdown.

Additionally, all NHTSA activities funded through the Highway Trust Fund would continue during the shutdown. Fund expenditures include federal surface transportation programs.

The NHTSA recalls this week include:

FOREST RIVER, INC.

Leaf Spring Bolt Failure

A clip detachment may cause the leaf spring to fan out, reducing stability and increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 21

Forest River is recalling certain 2025-2026 Coachmen RV Type C Entourage motorhomes. A bolt may contact the truss support and fail, enabling the rebound clip to detach from the leaf spring.

Dealers will remove part of the truss tube to increase the clearance, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Nov. 12. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 574-825-8602. Forest River’s number for this recall is 210-1982.

 

Sewer Gas May Enter Vehicle

Sewer gas that enters the vehicle increases the injury risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 8

Forest River is recalling certain 2026 Flagstaff and Rockwood RVs. The wastewater holding tank ventilation pipe may not be terminated outside the vehicle, which can lead to sewer gas entering the vehicle.

Dealers will install a vent cap, free of charge. All vehicles are still in dealer inventory and therefore no owner notification letters will be mailed. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 574-642-8942. Forest River’s number for this recall is 10-1986.

Seat Fasteners May Damage Propane Hoses

A propane gas leak increases the fire risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 39

Rev Recreation Group is recalling certain 2024-2026 Holiday Rambler Invicta and Fleetwood Fortis RVs equipped with the theater seat option. The theater seat fasteners may have damaged the liquid propane hoses, causing a propane leak.

Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the remedy is completed. Dealers will inspect and replace any damaged hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Dec. 2. Owners may contact Rev customer service at 800-509-3417. Rev’s number for this recall is 251003REV.

WINNEBAGO TOWABLE

Improperly Installed Shelf May Fail

A shelf that detaches can hit an occupant, increasing the injury risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 307

Winnebago Towable is recalling certain 2025 Access travel trailers. The shelf above the bed may have been installed incorrectly, which can enable the shelf to detach.

Dealers will reinstall the shelf with screws, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Dec. 6. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 574-825-5280, ext. 5220. Winnebago’s number for this recall is CAM0000044.
