Indiana High School Students Receive RVTI Training

Blue Compass RV and Central Christian Academy united to provide RV Technical Institute (RVTI) Level 1 training to seven high school juniors and seniors.

Blue Compass RV Indiana, the former Colerain Family RV of Indianapolis, hosted the training. The training ran Jan. 3-12 as part of a special series at the academy.

RVTI Executive Director Curt Hemmeler said, “Embracing a trade career as an RV service technician is a viable option that’s currently in high demand.”

Hemmeler said RVTI hopes to see students continue to hone their skills after graduation.

Central Christian Academy high school teacher Joseph Viselli instructed the class. The Level 1 training provided students with knowledge of the seven RV systems. As both the school and Blue Compass are RVTI Learning Partners, the program included the technician curriculum, course materials, learning management system and first-attempt testing.

Central Christian Academy Academic Director Jerry Stanton said, “The partnership, with Blue Compass RV providing a wonderful facility and potential employment for our students, is a dream scenario.”

Blue Compass RV President and CEO Jon Ferrando said seeing students pursuing an RV path was inspiring.

“Given the opportunity to help support their students to achieve their RV Technical Institute certification,” Ferrando said, “was an opportunity we could not pass up.”

Ferrando said Blue Compass is eager to continue working with more high schools nationally.
