Leisure Days RV Group is rebranding 1000 Islands RV in Gananoque, Ontario, into RV Canada 1000 Islands, effective Feb. 24.
Leisure Days RV Group said 1000 Islands RV began in May 1996 with a vacant lot, two guys with a dream and a single manufacturer. In the early days, the team of seven had to be creative to make things work. The original service bay doors were not even tall enough for modern RVs, requiring staff to let the air out of tires just to squeeze fifth wheels inside for repairs.
Leisure Days RV Group said the dealership grew over three decades from a small lot selling everything from mopeds to emergency vehicles into one of Ontario’s premier RV destinations.
Henry Boer, the original owner of 1000 Islands RV, sees this evolution as the natural next step for the business he helped build.
“We took 1000 Islands RV Centre as far as we could, and I am incredibly proud of the foundation we built over the decades,” Boer said. “Now, with the power of the RV Canada brand behind it, this company is ready to go to the next level. I am excited to see what the future has in store for RV Canada 1000 Islands.”
The company said this strategic transformation establishes a new RV Superstore corridor along Highway 401. Marking the second location for the brand, joining the original flagship in Ottawa (Nepean), this expansion creates a unified service network designed to better serve buyers across the entire region.
Under the RV Canada banner, the company said the Gananoque location will offer RV shoppers access to the largest inventory network in the country.
General Manager Adam Finley said the dealership is proud of its 30-year history in the region.
“Becoming RV Canada 1000 Islands is the ultimate celebration of that legacy,” Finley said. “We are keeping the friendly service that built this business, but now we can offer our customers better pricing, faster parts access, and hundreds more units than we ever could before.”
The rebrand, according to CEO Mike Garrick, is part of a larger strategic expansion by the Leisure Days RV Group.
“We are not just changing signs; we are investing in the future of these communities,” Garrick said. “By aligning our 1000 Islands location with our RV Canada brand, we are leveraging our scale to deliver unmatched value to our customers. This is just the beginning of our growth story in Eastern Ontario.”
A spring grand re-opening event is currently being planned for late March or early April (weather dependent), with details to follow.
