Port Lavaca/Matagorda Bay KOA Holiday has been named Small Accommodations of the Year by the Texas Association of Campground Owners (TACO). Selected for the honor from dozens of submissions, the campground was recognized for its unique deluxe cabins offering decks with water views and premium comforts.

A TACO representative said Port Lavaca/Matagorda Bay KOA Holiday rose to the top as the most comfortable and inviting accommodations of the entrants. The uniqueness of the campground’s deluxe cabins, some of which feature raised, second-story decks, also stood out.

“Building our campground from the ground up, it is a real honor to be recognized as one of the best places to stay in Texas,” said Ethan Rafei, owner of the Port Lavaca/Matagorda Bay KOA Holiday. “We have made it our mission to create a camping experience that is one-of-a-kind and our cabin accommodations are a shining example of that.”

Criteria for TACO’s Small Accommodations of the Year include furnishings, kitchen and bathroom set-up, sleeping accommodations and overall park setting.
