Exclusive: Lazydays RV Opens Standalone Service Center in Houston

Doors opened for business today at a new Lazydays RV service center just outside Houston. Unlike other Lazydays RV locations, the new 30,000-square-foot service center in Waller, Texas, has no attached dealership.

Lazydays RV’s standalone service center is something of a test, said Bubba Bruning, service manager of the 20-bay Houston facility.

“We wanted to see how it goes when the focus is solely on service,” Bruning said. “Because service is all we do, there’s no chance of it becoming an afterthought. Service is going to be the first thought – the only thought.”

The Houston service center is Lazydays RV’s first location in Texas. Though the company’s nearest dealership is more than 800 miles away, the Houston location makes sense, according to the company, because Texas has more RV owners than any other state, and Houston is the largest RV market in Texas.

Lazydays RV has seven dealership locations: two in Florida, two in Colorado, and one each in Arizona, Minnesota and Tennessee.

“We are very excited that our first dedicated service center has commenced operations,” Lazydays RV Chairman and CEO William P. Murnane said. “RV owners everywhere, as well as RV manufacturers, are demanding a better service experience. Lazydays is well known for providing superior service, and we want to bring a consistent and outstanding service experience to customers across the country.”

The Houston service center is open to all consumers in need of RV service, regardless of whether they purchased their unit from a Lazydays RV or elsewhere.

On opening day today, six RV technicians will man the center’s 20 service bays. Staff orientation takes place today, with customer appointments scheduled for later this week, Bruning said.

When at full capacity, the center will grow to 20 to 25 technicians. Service personnel can perform any non-engine/transmission work on any type of RV, including living-quarters horse trailers, said Bruning, who was service manager at Prevost’s Houston service center prior to joining Lazydays.

The new Lazydays RV service center resides in a newly constructed building just off Interstate 290, across the street from a Love’s Travel Stop and two exits away from a large Buc-ee’s truck stop.
