Leisureland RV Center, a veteran-owned dealership in Meridian, Idaho, has been awarded the Hire Vets Medallion Gold Award for the third time in five years.

The U.S. Department of Labor awards the honor. The dealership said the award is the nation’s highest federal honor for veteran employment.

Owner John DeHoff, a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant, said the dealership is stronger because of the veterans he employs.

“This award is not about a business achievement,” DeHoff said, “it is a recognition of the discipline, leadership and professionalism veterans bring to our organization, our customers and the Treasure Valley community.”

Leisureland RV Center first received the medallion in 2021. The dealership said only a handful of employers statewide have earned the honor multiple times.

The Hire Vets Medallion Award is the only federal-level award recognizing employers for their commitment to veteran hiring, retention and long-term career development.

Recipients are evaluated on key performance metrics, including veteran hiring rates, career growth opportunities, training investments and leadership pathways within the organization.

The DOL released the 2025 award list Nov. 26, with formal publication in the Federal Register.

Leisureland RV Center said Idaho is home to one of the nation’s highest concentrations of veterans per capita. The dealership said veteran-owned businesses play a significant role in creating stable employment opportunities for transitioning service members and military families.
