A recent report released this month indicates consumer interest in RV travel and outdoor recreation is growing.

RVIA’s Go RVing Trend Report for December reported that “campgrounds” and “state parks” were two of the top four most-searched terms on Google Maps.

Google’s 2025 year-end search results report shows terms related to outdoor recreation are among Google Maps’ most-searched terms.

The term “travel itineraries” was listed among the top five most searched in the food and lifestyle category.

In 2024, “top hiking areas” was among the top three Google Maps searches, the only outdoor recreation-related term atop the search results report.

“The bottom line,” Go RVing said, “[is that] the most-searched results reflect the $1.2 trillion outdoor recreation industry’s continued popularity among consumers.”

RVIA said Google’s most-searched outdoor trends align with its own recent findings that 39% of leisure travelers plan to take an RV trip in the coming year—a significant increase from last year.
