New Mexico Restrictions Impact Dealers

New Mexico will temporarily re-enact a statewide order limiting dealership sales amid the influx of COVID-19 illnesses.

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and state health officials announced the order Nov. 13.

Under the order, RV dealers must halt all in-person sales at dealerships until at least Nov. 30. Online methods for sales transactions are permitted, although it is unclear how vehicles could be delivered to consumers. RV service and repair shops may remain open.

The order also limits places of lodging to 25 percent occupancy if they complete the New Mexico Safe Certified training. If not completed, the business must close.

RVIA noted that, to its knowledge, New Mexico is the first state to issue restrictions on RV parks or dealerships since the spring. The association’s government affairs team is working with RVDA and the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) to update resources on any new state restrictions that could impact RV campgrounds, dealerships, repair shops or manufacturers.
