NPA Reports Depressed Used RV Prices

Pricing pressure remains intense in the wholesale segment, according to a report from National Powersport Auctions (NPA), as dealers rush to meet year-end financial goals.

NPA said wholesale prices are experiencing accelerated depreciation. NPA said prices are falling faster than typical seasonal patterns.

“Dealers and lenders are highly motivated to clear inventory from the books before year-end, leading to less reserve protection at auction,” NPA said. “This makes December arguably the best month for wholesale buyers to secure high-quality units at depressed values, as sellers prioritize capital recovery over margin optimization.”

NPA said the greatest segment pressure is concentrated on lower-end, highly utilized travel trailers and older Type C motorhomes. NPA said the group is seeing the steepest price drops due to high supply and reduced consumer interest in winter travel.

For NPA dealer members, December offers an opportunity to capitalize on the year-end push. NPA said dealers can focus on buying high-quality, late-model inventory that others are liquidating to minimize their tax burdens.

Conversely, NPA said sellers must accept that retail demand is minimal. Pricing aggressively, NPA said, ensures a quick sale to free up capital for 2026.

NPA said it has over 500 RVs available at December auctions. This month’s schedule includes:

  • Dec. 4 in Lakeland, Florida; and Sacramento, California.
  • Dec. 5 in Atlanta and San Diego.
  • Dec. 10 in Philadelphia.
  • Dec. 11 in Kansas City and Portland, Oregon.
  • Dec. 12 in Dallas.
  • Dec. 17 in Cincinnati.
  • Dec. 18 in Lakeland and Denver.
  • Dec. 19 in Atlanta and San Diego.
  • Dec. 23 in Dallas.
