The Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle and Camping Association (PRVCA) elected its 2021 officers and board members during its virtual annual meeting in November.

Greg Starr, owner of Starr’s Trailer Sales in Brockway, Pennsylvania, was appointed to serve as vice chairman to fill the term of Bill D’Andrea, who resigned in August. The term runs until Oct. 31.

Nick Boyer, Boyer RV’s general service manager in Erie, Pennsylvania, was elected to serve a two-year term as secretary. Ed Flick, retired from Fulton Bank, was reelected as treasurer.

Tim Umstead of Trumark Dealer Services remains the board chairman.

Newly elected board members are Ryan Reich, business manager of Susquehanna RV in Selinsgrove; Hadden Smith, general manager of Campers Inn RV in Philadelphia; and Jason Vaughn, executive director of the Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association in East Stroudsburg. All new members will serve a two-year term on the board of directors.

Also during its annual meeting, the PRVCA presented the Gary Bunzer Education Award and the Rebecca Lenington Volunteer of the Year Award.

Susquehanna RV won the Gary Bunzer Education Award for the third year in a row for attending the most PRVCA training sessions in 2020-21. Executive Director Heather Leach presented the award to Jon Jones, service manager. The dealership sent 24 employees to attend eight different trainings throughout the year.

“Congratulations to Susquehanna RV and thank you for attending our education programs,” Leach said. “The challenge is out there to see if any dealership can attend more trainings in the coming year. I encourage all of our members to take advantage of our free and low-cost trainings.”

Brad Bryant, president of Bryant’s RV Showcase, is the 2021 Rebecca Lenington Volunteer of the Year. Because Bryant was in Florida, Leach surprised him with the award over Zoom and thanked him for his work as chairman of the education committee and his involvement with the association for more than 20 years.

“In 2020 when we could not have the show,” Leach said, “PRVCA found a way to help the industry the best way it could through improving our education program. You brought the leadership necessary to accomplish something very important – bringing quality education to our members and that’s something our members will benefit from for years to come.”

Peers in the RV industry nominate the volunteers for the award, which is named for retired long-time PRVCA Executive Vice President Rebecca Lenington. The Education Award was named the Gary Bunzer Education Award for industry consultant, speaker and trainer Gary Bunzer, who passed away in 2020.
