Vermont-based Pete’s RV Center acquired its sixth dealership location, assuming ownership July 1 of The Trail Center in North Charleston, South Carolina.

The move is Pete’s RV Center’s first into the Southeast. Its South Burlington, Vermont, flagship has been in operation since 1952. Other sites are in Indiana, Connecticut, Maine and Pennsylvania.

The Trail Center, a Jayco RV exclusive dealer, was founded in 1966 by Air Force pilot Fred Curtis. Gloria Morgan, who began working at The Trail Center in 1973, took over ownership in 1993.

“I am happy to see Pete’s RV come in and carry on with our 55-year tradition of quality customer service,” Morgan said.

“Gloria Morgan is not only the heart and soul of The Trail Center, she is also a staple in the RV industry,” Pete’s RV co-owner Chad Shepard said. “It is an honor to assume ownership of a business so fondly recognized in Charleston and its surrounding communities.”
