Phoenix USA RV rolled out its first Type B-plus motorhome supported by a secondary lithium battery system.

The manufacturer chose Volta Power Systems to supply the power system. With the Volta power system, the Phoenix Cruiser and TRX models will eliminate generators and provide enough power to run an air conditioner overnight.

Tina Cooper, co-owner of Phoenix USA RV, said: “Comfort, safety, and simplicity are three important ideals we strive for when designing any of our motorcoaches,” said. “It’s what our customers have told us they want, and we’re excited to take our commitment a step further by partnering with Volta.”

Phoenix USA RV’s Volta-equipped models will feature energy storage systems ranging from 6,600-watt-hours to 13,300-watt-hours, DC power and an 8,000-watt alternator that recharges the system while driving. The system empowers RVers to run air conditioning and other 120-volt amenities such as slow cookers, coffee makers, hair dryers and microwaves without relying on shore power or supplemental generators.

Jon Mulder, Volta’s vice president of sales, said: “The system setup the Phoenix team chose strikes the perfect balance between maximizing power and space in the motorcoach for short-term boondocking. We cannot wait for Phoenix fans to experience being powered by Volta.”

Volta-equipped Phoenix vehicles are available for order and will ship later this year. Phoenix will include the Volts system on its new Super C model coming out this fall.

Phoenix and Volta will be at the Hershey RV Show this week. Visitors can meet the Phoenix team at booth F1 to learn more.
