Redarc launched the BCDC Alpha100 R, its most powerful model in the battery charger from direct current (BCDC) range.

The 100-amp version is made to fuel high-capacity battery systems. The charger is a DC-to-DC charger able to charge and recover the start battery. The charger uses excess solar power to maintain and revive a dead battery.

The BCDC Alpha100 R combines auxiliary battery charging, start battery recovery, RedVision connectivity and an integrated smart battery monitor in a single, compact in-cabin unit. The charger prioritizes solar input to minimize the load on a vehicle’s second alternator.

The charger automatically adapts to a battery’s needs, maximizing efficiency and extending battery life. When the charge rate is set below maximum, the Alpha100 R redirects unused power to run your system’s loads directly, rather than drawing from your battery. That means more stored energy when you need it most, enabling the fridge, lights and electronics to run even longer. Integrated with RedVision, consumers can monitor key metrics such as state of charge, charge performance, and time remaining from their mobile device or RedVision display.

Peter Favilla, Redarc’s global president, said, “With the BCDC Alpha100 R, we are completing the Alpha lineup and giving high-demand users faster charging, more control and expanded functionality. It is essentially a mini manager for those who do not need shore power, offering advanced control in a form factor that is just a fraction of the size of the Manager Alpha.”
