Average auction sales prices for towable and motorized RVs fell in September, a move which Black Book Principal Analyst – Specialty Markets Eric Lawrence said was typical during the season.

The average towable sales price fell 4.3% from the previous month to $20,138, according to Black Book’s November RV Market Commentary. Motorized average values fell 9.7% from the previous month to $61,575.

“These drops are not wholly unexpected,” Lawrence said, “as we are heading into the slower season for many dealers, and the average unit’s age increased slightly over the previous month.”

Towables’ average sales price fell for the third consecutive month. The September average sales price is down 5% from the $21,217 price registered in September 2022.

Motorized RVs’ average sales price was 16.9% lower than the $74,069 average sales price in September 2022.

Auction volume rose for all RVs from the previous month. Towables’ volume rose 5.6% from August 2023 and motorized volume rose 6.7%.

The average model year sold among towable RVs was 2018. For motorized, the average model year was 2013.
