Elkhart, Indiana-based ASA Electronics unveiled its latest app update to give RV owners “even more control” over their unit’s systems.

The company’s free, updated smartphone app – iN-Command Control Systems with Global Connect – works with ASA’s control system to provide RVers custom alerts for water tank levels, battery voltage and interior coach temperature.

“We are always listening to customer feedback to improve our products,” the company’s VP of RV sales, Jim Hess, said. “The request we have received most often is for alerts from the thermostat and water tanks. No one wants to come back from a hike on a hot day to learn the air conditioner has not kicked on or that there is no fresh water to take a shower.”

The app triggers a push notification on a smart device when systems such as temperature, battery voltage and water tank levels reach a designated alert range.

“For example, if the RV owner does not want their coach to overheat, they would set the maximum temperature and would receive an alert as soon as the temperature exceeded that number,” ASA stated.

iN-Command Control Systems use CAN Bus signals and gateways to communicate with other systems in the RV, such as the HVAC and tank sensors. This technology relays information from the other systems to ASA’s system, which in turn uses Global Connect technology to send the information to the app.

The update enhanced iN-Command’s ability to communicate with other systems on the RV, ASA stated, such as diagnostic reporting from select air conditioning units, which can be used for troubleshooting common HVAC issues. RV owners with Zamp solar panels will be able to access monitoring functions of the Zamp Solar CINDER 40 charge controller through the app.
