RVs have exploded in popularity during this pandemic as a safe way to travel. With increased RV sales and rentals, it further highlights a shortage in qualified RV apprentices and technicians. To address this need, RVDA of Canada is hosting a panel of experts from Canada and the U.S., including RV Technical Institute Vice President Sharonne Lee, to discuss the different approaches to becoming an RV technician.

“Increasing the number of certified RV technicians is our mission at the RV Technical Institute,” said Lee. “I am excited to discuss our new curriculum, our 4-level career path, and the many ways people can experience the training, both in-person and online.”

Other panelists include Jon Itterman, an instructor at Okanagan College; Warren Thunstrom, an instructor at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology; and Tony Yerman, RV Fixed Operations Consultant for the RV Dealers Association.

The webinar will discuss the following topics:

  • Apprenticeship (traditional) vs. non-traditional approach
  • Certification levels in Canada and U.S.
  • Training providers
  • Certification and governing bodies
  • Online vs. in-person training

Date: August 27, 2020
Time: 12pm Pacific / 3pm Eastern
