RVDA Canada Releases Industry Compensation Study

The Recreational Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) of Canada conducted a 2022 Canadian RV Industry Compensation Study looking at compensation and benefits provided to RV dealership staff across Canada. The study was carried out by The Portage Group, a management consulting firm specializing in consulting research for associations.

About 418 email invitations were sent to dealerships in February. The survey had a response rate of 21%. The survey asked dealers to provide compensation, benefit, and demographic information for full-time, part-time and seasonal staff positions. Dealers reported data for 1,189 positions.

Western Canada comprised nearly half of respondents (49%). Thirty percent of participating dealerships were from the province of Alberta and 19% were based in British Columbia.

Of those dealerships responding, 31% reported staff sizes of 11-20 employees, The average number of staff at participating dealerships was 24.9. Of those responding, 22% had a payroll size between $500,000 and $999.999 while 20% more had a payroll between $1 million to $5 million.
