The RVDA of Canada, citing data collected by Integrated Dealer Systems (IDS), said repair event cycle time (RECT) across Canada improved in February.

The average RECT in February was 64 days, according to IDS data of more than 2,500 transactions across 84 dealerships.

RVDA of Canada said the 64-day total was the best February performance nationwide since February 2020. The February 2024 total was down 11 days from January 2024’s 75-day average.

Two particular bottlenecks eased in February, according to the IDS data.

The average cycle time for work orders with at least one out-of-stock part was 112 days. The total was one day quicker than the previous month and the smallest February average since 2019.

Cycle time for work orders with warranty coverage averaged 77 days in February. The total was 12 days quicker than January 2024 and the lowest February average since 2019.

IDS found 42% of Canadian work orders in February had warranty coverage. The report showed 30% of work orders had out-of-stock parts.
