RVIA’s latest quarterly forecast projects wholesale RV shipments to increase nearly 3% in 2026 from 2025 levels. The forecast calls for 2025 wholesale RV shipments to outpace 2023 and 2024 levels.
ITR Economics prepared the Winter 2025 edition of RV RoadSigns for RVIA. The forecast calls for 2025 wholesale RV shipments to range from 334,000 to 345,400, with a median of 339,700. Wholesale RV shipments totaled 333,733 in 2024 and 313,174 in 2023.
The 2026 wholesale RV shipment forecast ranges from 332,100 to 366,000, with a median of 349,300.
RVIA President and CEO said the forecast reflected a stable and resilient RV industry that is prepared for renewed growth.
“We anticipate a steady start to 2026,” he said, “followed by stronger momentum as conditions improve throughout the year.”
The forecast calls for wholesale RV shipments to increase for a fourth consecutive year, with each year’s shipment total between 300,000 and 400,000 RVs. The last time that occurred was 2002-2007, when shipments ranged from 311,00 in 2002 to 390,400 in 2006 before slipping to 353,400 in 2007.
At the time, wholesale RV shipments had not surpassed 400,000 RVs in a single year. The first year RVIA recorded wholesale RV shipments above 400,000 was 2016. Since then, wholesale RV shipments have surpassed 500,000 in 2017 and 600,000 in 2021.
The pandemic era from 2020-2022 saw wholesale RV shipments average 507,925 RVs annually.
In the three years before 2020, wholesale RV shipments averaged 464,767 RVs annually.
According to RVIA’s forecast, the three years from 2023-2025 would average 328,869 wholesale RV shipments annually. The total is a 35% decline from the 2020-2022 average and a 29% decline from the 2017-2019 average.
