The RVIA has set the date of its 5th annual Park Improvement Project volunteer day for May 20.

This year, the association said, volunteers from across the industry will come together at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds. The group will help restore and enhance the fairground’s recreation and campground facilities.

RVIA said the program was originally conceived and nurtured by the Emerging Leaders Coalition (ELC) and has now officially “graduated from its incubator stage.”

“Reflecting the ELC’s mission to cultivate the next generation of leadership,” an RVIA spokesperson said, “the initiative has now transitioned into a permanent fixture within the RV Industry Association’s committee structure under the Sustainability Committee.”

Volunteer leaders Michilah Grimes of Lippert and Mike Gaeddert of Forest River will continue to lead the efforts.

Over the past four years, the Park Improvement Project has held an event in 2022 at Potato Creek State Park, followed up in 2023 at Ox Bow County Park, in 2024 at Chain O’Lakes State Park, and last year at Bonneyville Mill County Park.
