RVIA’s government affairs team advocates for the RV industry at Capitol Hill. To further this advocacy, RVIA appointed David Gardner as the association’s manager of federal affairs.

Gardner was a committee member on the Senate Committee on Environment Public Works and the Senate Committee on Natural Resources. His time on the latter committee was focused on public lands and outdoor recreation issues.

“I dove into a ton of unique topics,” Gardner said. “I worked with many of the same legislative issues I am focusing on now—outdoor recreation and public lands issues. It is the ‘fun portfolio’ because it is about being outside.”

Gardner has an outdoors passion. He said he sees RVs as an integral part of exploring the country.

Gardner’s duties will include promoting RV legislative priorities to decision-makers in Washington. Gardner said he would foster awareness and bring attention to the industry’s needs and community benefits.
