This year’s RVIA Regulatory and Safety Compliance Seminar will include a panel of industry compliance veterans. The seminar will take place at 8 a.m. July 26 in the Crystal Ballroom at the Lerner Theatre in Elkhart, Indiana. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

The panelists are:

  • David Mihalick, vice president vehicle safety & regulatory compliance, Thor Industries
  • Von Lindsey, owner, Lindsey Research Services
  • Mike Becker, head of compliance, Forest River
  • Kevin Van Bronkhorst, director of enterprise product safety and compliance, Winnebago Industries
  • Christie Iannetta, partner, Nelson Mullins

The panelist discussions will cover several topics, including parts traceability, recall completion rate efforts, researching possible safety issues, external communications, and consent orders. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss and ask questions.

In addition to the panelists, RVIA expanded programming this year with a presentation from NHTSA Safety Recall Specialist Choon Lee and a presentation from Jeremy Hamilton, head, recalls Transport Canada. The seminar will focus on NHTSA-related issues as well as cover broader regulatory concerns.

The seminar has been extended to a full day to allow for all the new programming, including a new session covering Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations and their impact on the RV industry. The EPA and CARB presentations begin at 2 p.m.

The day will end with a presentation by Dale Kardos, president of Kardos & Associates LLC.

Thor Industries, Winnebago Industries, Forest River Inc., Lippert, Dave Carter & Associates, Dexter, and Dometic are sponsoring the seminar, which is free for RVIA members.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or have general questions about the seminar, email Kyle Correa-Brady at [email protected].

Registration is open through tomorrow.
