RVIA will host a webinar Sept. 20 titled “How to Submit Suggested Changes to RV-C Protocol.”
The webinar will run from 1-2 p.m. ET. Co-presenters are current RV-C Administrator Von Lindsey, president of Lindsey Research Services; and Martin Perlot, president of Silverleaf Electronics, Inc. and the former RV-C administrator.
The webinar is open to all RVIA members.
Attendees should include:
- Product developers or engineers who are not familiar with submissions to the RV-C protocol
- Managers who are responsible for RV-C compatible products (but may not be product developers or engineers)
- Engineers who work for an RV manufacturer that uses RV-C
- Anyone responsible for RV-C related items (e.g., procurement or sale of RV-C compatible products)
- Anyone interested in learning more about RV-C and how it is administered
RV-C, which stands for Recreation Vehicle-CAN (Communication Area Network), was developed by an RVIA subcommittee nearly 20 years ago. RV-C is an open protocol language for appliances and devices, enabling the products to communicate and cooperate in an RV.
In recent years, the number of suppliers developing RV-C compatible component parts has grown exponentially, RVIA said. Because of the growth, the RV-C subcommittee determined educating the industry on how to submit suggested changes would be beneficial.
