RVTI is based in Elkhart, Indiana. Last week, the organization hosted students from the Elkhart Community School’s Young Adult Program for a tour of its facility.
RVTI Recruitment Administrator Mary Smith said the Young Adult Program is designed to help students with disabilities, ages 18-22, learn job readiness skills.
“The students loved visiting the location, meeting the staff and operating the equipment,” Smith said. “The tour also allowed us to introduce them to the RV world, as well as the wider skilled trades. It was a pleasure meeting them and providing an enjoyable and educational experience.”
RVTI said students with the visiting class have graduated with alternative diplomas and have chosen to further their education with the program.
On the tour, which was led by Smith, students met the instructors and saw the facility’s workshop area.

“In particular, the group enjoyed interacting with the electrical boards, discovering how to bring lights and fans to life through hands-on wiring,” RVTI said. “They also explored the inside of an RV that was parked at the facility.”
According to the program’s website, the vision of the Young Adult Program is to equip all students with independence and purpose through community engagement and meaningful employment opportunities.
