Scout Debuts Kenai Model Truck Camper

Adventurer Manufacturing launched its third model in the Scout Camper line on Thursday. Kenai is the largest Scout Camper model and offers expanded power features and more customization options than its predecessors. Weighing an estimated 1,370 pounds with a 92.25-inch floor length, Kenai is fit for heavy half-ton to 1-ton short and long box trucks.

“Kenai takes self-sufficiency to a whole new level,” said Claudia Healey, brands communications coordinator at Adventurer Manufacturing. “There’s overall more energy-efficient functionality.”

Adventurer introduced its Scout line in April 2020 with the debut of the Olympic model. Yoho, the smallest of the three units, was second to come out when it launched in June. While all three models come standard with dual propane tanks and a lithium power station, Kenai has the capacity for more power with 10-pound propane tanks and the Goal Zero Yeti 1500 lithium power station, as opposed to the 5-pound tanks and the Goal Zero Yeti 1000 lithium power station in the smaller models.

Kenai is also the only model to include a mud room and a designated bathroom area. In the camper’s entryway is a stainless-steel drain pan that drains directly out of the camper. Immediately to the right of the entryway is space for a portable shower as well as a 2.6-gallon portable toilet or an integrated cassette toilet that swivels out of the way. A privacy curtain that extends from ceiling to floor helps keep water from seeping or splashing into the rest of the camper.

“It’s about power efficiency, really,” Healey said. “All of our features continue to keep portability and flexibility in mind. With the Kenai we really just wanted to offer more of those creature comforts.”

All of the Scout Camper models are constructed with an aluminum exo- skeleton framing and an insulated, no-wood composite consisting of a marine grade, high-density polyurethane foam that has been fortified with fiberglass. Each model also comes standard with 160-watt monocrystalline solar panels and marine-grade flooring.

With headquarters in Yakima, Washington, Adventurer Manufacturing has been producing adventure vehicles for more than 50 years. The company also manufactures Adventurer and Eagle Cap truck campers as well as Overlander Type C motorhomes.
