The September RVIA manufacturers survey found that wholesale RV shipments ended the month with 28,333 units, a 48.5% decrease compared with the 55,014 units shipped in September last year.

RVIA President and CEO Craig Kirby said the latest shipment report demonstrates RV production is returning to normal levels.

Wholesale RV shipments through September 2022 are down 8.2% compared with the first nine months of 2021. In 2022, RVIA has reported 415,594 wholesale shipments.

“Campgrounds continue to report strong reservations,” Kirby said, “as the many people who bought RVs in the past few years are using the RVs to spend quality time with friends and family this fall while enjoying the many physical and mental health benefits of getting outdoors.”

Towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers, ended September 2022 down 54.4% from September 2021 with 23,103 shipments. Motorhomes finished September 2022 up 21.1% compared with September 2021 with 5,230 units.
