Sobel University’s first virtual Comprehensive Sales Course, which took place between August 3-7, has received overwhelmingly positive feedback, according to the company.

The Comprehensive Sales Courses have been used to give salespeople the skills to help RV consumers since 1991. Sobel University has offered the course for nearly 30 years, with curriculum adjusted to continually provide training and insights in serving the “modern” consumer.

This year, in light of travel concerns due to COVID-19, Sobel University shifted to offering the sales course online to still help dealerships train new salespeople.

“While some were concerned about personal attention and accountability, the way my staff formatted the online course had everybody engaged and brought attendees’ proficiency up dramatically during the week.” said Jered Sobel, vice president of Sobel University.

In person, Sobel University usually offers the Comprehensive Sales Course at five different experience levels. For its first virtual offering of the course however, the university only taught the course at two of the five levels. The first level was for people new to the industry and new to sales. The second level was for returning students ready for a more challenging curriculum with advanced role-playing techniques.

In a wrap-up review, feedback attendees gave indicated that they were still able to roleplay and interact, that tutors and other resources associated with in-person learning were still available, and that the platform was easy to use.

Sobel University has its next Comprehensive Sales Course scheduled to take place October 19-23 in Tacoma, according to the company website, with future sessions scheduled int November and December as well.

Sobel University has trained more than 65,000 students who work at more than 500 RV dealerships since 1991. The institution provides customized training for management, salespeople and consumers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
