SuperSteer RV products released a rear suspension package for Mercedes-Benz Sprinter two-wheel-drive 3500 Type B motorhomes. The SS-480-1 package creates “sportscar-like” ride and handling, the company said.

The package includes SS88-1889 rear shocks, an SS110 anti-sway bar and an SS701 rear trac bar. The components are bolt-on replacements using existing factory mounting holds. The suspension package includes mounting hardware and instructions.

The rear trac bar stabilizes the rear axle housing, preventing uncontrolled side-shift and rear sway caused by the push-pull effect of strong side winds and passing trucks, or sudden changes in steering direction, SuperSteer said.

The anti-sway bar has a larger diameter and more torsion than the OEM bar, SuperSteer said. The change provides up to 90% more resistance to body roll or lean, SuperSteer said, improving handling and stability during cornering.

Finally, the rear shocks include an internal valve to filter out vibrations before they reach the motorhome. The valve helps provide a smoother ride over rough surfaces and helps control pitching and swaying, SuperSteer said.
